Ruth Barngrove Sauer has been involved in bringing art and art education to adults and children in Salem NY for the last 15 years. Her extensive teaching experience and training provide unique lessons. Studio associate David O'Keefe has been teaching art to children in the area for a number of years and is also available for lessons. 196 North Main Street in historic Salem New York is a center for artists and artisans. Founded in 2006, the building has been an important part of the development of the arts in the area, with roots going back 15 years to the original ARTS 220 GALLERY & STUDIO.
The building was renovated by a crew that included many artists from the community. The intention was to make space available for working artists and artisans in the area, and all the units were filled before construction work was completed.
